Welcome to the City of Jackson, Alabama!

The City of Jackson, Alabama was founded in 1816 and is named after President Andrew Jackson. Former names for the city include “Pine Level” and “Republicville”.

And while Jackson’s rich heritage and small-town charm have been preserved, the city has also grown by leaps and bounds over the past 194 years. Built initially as a “Timber town”, Jackson is now home to many types of industry and commercial development.

From Bloomer’s Gifts & Floral to Boise Cascade Corporation, Jackson is a city with heart and a vision for tomorrow.

The first weekend of November, downtown Jackson comes alive for the annual Fall Festival--drawing visitors from near and far! The Antique Car & Tractor Show, Live Music, Lumberjack Competition, Hot Air Balloon Rides, Celebrity Appearance, Craft & Vendor Booths, Chili Cookoff and Best BBQ Contest are just a few of the attractions offered in recent years.

Presented by the Chamber of Commerce, the very first "Pine City Fall Festival & Lumberjack Competition" was held in 1982 and has gotten bigger and better every year since. Take a moment to view the slideshow below and then mark your calendar for the first weekend in November!!
