Mayor Paul South

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Paul grew up in Arab, Alabama,and graduated from Arab High School. He attended the University of Alabama, where he met his wife, Jan Rudder South. The couple moved to Jackson, Alabama in 1977 and later had three children, Carrie, Laura and Will.  Read More

Served as Councilman

Paul South has proudly served as Councilman for District 2 since 1992 until 2016 when he was elected as Mayor.

Served as Mayor Protem

Paul South has also served the City of Jackson as Mayor Protem from 1999 until elected as Mayor in 2016.

Water & Sewer Board

Paul South currently serves on the Jackson Water & Sewer Board and Worked at Boise Cascade 1979-2016.
